No Bailout for Drug Fair?: Drug Fair, a drug store chain in New Jersey filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection earlier this month and their stores are either closing or being converted to Walgreens. I’ve got to say it’s not surprising. When I first moved to my town, Drug Fair was the only option for prescriptions, and they had a lot of other random stuff. But a couple years ago, Walgreens moved in across the street with better service, better selection, and a cleaner, newer store. And so, Drug Fair is going away - they blame it on the recession, but they were just not as good as Walgreens. I’d like to see other inferior companies fold, rather than receive bailouts.
